Jamie Bourgeois

Managing Director, Hospitality

Jamie Bourgeois is the head of Live Oak Bank’s hospitality lending team providing capital to business owners in the hospitality industry. She has more than twenty years of experience in the financial services industry, including business development, commercial lending and risk management. Most recently, Jamie was the Head of the Energy & Infrastructure Lending Team at Live Oak Bank. Prior to joining Live Oak, Jamie was a Director at Fairview Real Estate Solutions where she focused on underwriting, investment and valuation in the commercial real estate group. Earlier in her career, she was a lead analyst in the CMBS Structured Finance Group at Moody’s Investor Services where she was focused on the rating of new CMBS Issuances. Jamie also held various roles at BB&T. She graduated from BB&T’s Management Program and spent most of her time focused on the development and co-approval of new commercial balance sheet loans. Jamie received her B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Management from Appalachian State University and her M.B.A. from Wake Forest University.

Angus McDonald

Angus McDonald is the head of Live Oak Bank’s commercial real estate lending team, providing capital across various property types, including multifamily, retail, industrial, student housing and build-to-rent. He has more than twenty-five years of experience in the real estate and financial services industries. Most recently, Angus led both the Specialty Finance and Capital Markets teams at Live Oak Bank. Prior to joining Live Oak, Angus was a Vice President at Medalist Capital, where he focused on deal structuring and raising debt and equity for commercial real estate projects. Prior to that, he was the Associate Director of Investments at TriProperties, Inc. Angus received a B.A. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as a Master's in Accounting and an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. He is a CFA charterholder.

Topher Patterson brings over 20 years of experience in corporate and commercial real estate, specializing in the healthcare sector. He was instrumental in establishing the structured finance division of a major international financial services firm, where he facilitated senior secured debt solutions for the healthcare and healthcare real estate industries. Throughout his career, Topher has managed over $5 billion in capital investments nationwide. He began his career as an agency lender, providing debt solutions to the multifamily and senior housing sectors. He also developed a national healthcare real estate transaction services team at a leading brokerage firm. Topher understands the critical role real estate plays in optimizing care delivery for patients and providers.

Crispen Carey is Director of Seniors Housing at Live Oak Bank, where he focuses on lending efforts within the senior housing real estate sector. He brings over 20 years of experience in seniors housing finance and investing, where he has built a strong network across the industry. Prior to joining Live Oak, Crispen held roles at NorthStar Healthcare Income, Welltower and Merrill Lynch Capital, where he was involved in all phases of the seniors housing investment process — from underwriting and asset management to acquisitions and dispositions. He earned his BS in economics from Brigham Young University and his MBA from George Washington University.

Specializing in hospitality financing, Blair Bunting helps potential borrowers secure the capital needed to acquire, refinance or construct hotel properties. Staying up to date with the latest trends in hospitality and commercial real estate, Blair can craft tailored financial solutions that meet each client's unique needs. With a commitment to providing excellent service, Blair takes the time to understand each client's specific goals, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. In addition to her industry knowledge, Blair is known for building strong, lasting relationships with clients and partners, fostering a reputation for trust and reliability in the industry. Previously, Blair served as a Loan Analyst for the Hospitality team and has an extensive background in construction.  Joining Live Oak in 2016, she's gained exposure to many hotel projects. Blair received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from N.C. State University with a minor in Applied Sociology. A native of eastern North Carolina, Blair appreciates quality time spent with family and friends on the water.

Jodi Griffin joined Live Oak Bank in April 2021 and is a loan officer on the commercial real estate team. With nearly 10 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, she is adept at assisting clients across a wide range of asset classes, tailoring solutions to meet their specific financial needs. Leveraging her expertise in loan analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management, Jodi provides a holistic, relationship-based approach to delivering financing solutions. Before joining Live Oak, Jodi completed BB&T's Leadership Development Program, which led to over five years of experience in Conventional Commercial Real Estate Lending at Truist in Eastern North Carolina. During this time, she underwrote and managed a diverse portfolio of income-producing real estate assets. Jodi holds a bachelor's degree in Business Management and a minor in Economics from Wingate University. She is also an active member of Cape Fear CREW, where she serves as Co-Chair of the annual Awards of Excellence, which recognizes leadership and project excellence within the rapidly growing Cape Fear Region CRE sector. In her free time, Jodi enjoys spending time with her Labrador Retriever, Moonshine, in addition to staying active and traveling to new destinations.

Justin Hartney is Associate Director of Seniors Housing at Live Oak Bank, where he focuses on lending efforts within the senior housing real estate sector. He brings more than a decade of experience across commercial and healthcare real estate, with a background spanning lending, underwriting and credit. Justin’s experience includes structuring and evaluating financing solutions across a range of property types and operator profiles. His experience positions him to effectively partner with seniors housing owners, operators and developers throughout the financing process. Justin earned his Bachelor of Science in business/economics from North Carolina State University and is based in Wilmington, North Carolina.
